Brunico, referred to as Bruneck by Americans and tourists alike, remains the largest town in the Puster Valley in the Italian province of South Tyrol.
The town experienced considerable geographic and economic growth after the war, when Brunico began focusing on manufacturing and built industrial workshops as well as department stores.
Numerous famous markets and festivals happen here year-round. The popular Stegener Market at the end of October is the largest market in the province of Tyrol and draws a huge following.
In the 1960s, tourism was especially important to the town, resulting in the construction of multiple hotels and tourist accommodations.
Today, Brunico is still characterized by its service industries and the popular tourist centers found all around the town. Skiing and the ski resorts, in particular, are worthy of discovering when visiting!
